The German iF Design Award, together with the German Red Dot Award and the American IDEA Award, are known as the "World's Three Major Design Awards". The iF Design Award was founded in 1953 and is organized annually by the Hanover Industrial Design Forum, Germany's oldest industrial design institution. It has become a benchmark for the global design industry, renowned for its "independent, rigorous and reliable" judging philosophy. It not only selects designs that excel in appearance, function and innovation, but also focuses on the impact of design on user experience and social value.​
